(PARANTHETICALS), a collection of his one-acts, received an Honorable Mention for the Eric Bentley New Play Competition.BLIND CORNER, a finalist for the Julie Harris Playwriting Award, was also a semi-finalist for the O'Neill Conference, as well as a semi-finalist for the Dramarama Competition. It received a workshop by Emerging Artists Theater and a developmental reading by the Abingdon Theatre in New York City.
Bill was also the winner of the Paul Green Playwrights Prize for his full-length play A WINTER BEAUTY, produced by Emerging Artists Theatre to several glowing reviews. Irene Backaleneck of Backstage: "His ability to create rich, believable characters and sharp, funny dialogue makes for a very special play...a strong new Off- Broadway voice." Other plays include RANDOM, which was named a finalist for the Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Award. Bill is also the author of both the play and screenplay versions of WORLD OF TOMORROW, about the struggle between Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs, and his first television pilot, RENT CONTROLLED, currently in development with Kierstead Productions.
Bill is co-creator and moderator of Writers@LargeNYC, a playwrights’ and screenwriters’ developmental group that meets three times a month to help writers develop their pieces.
